Shannon M. Vogt, J.D.

Shannon M. Vogt has practiced law for 30 years in the areas of probate and trust law, and business law.  After serving as the law clerk to Judge Robert E. Flournoy, Jr. in Cobb County Superior Court from 1987-1989, she began her practice at Morris Law Partners, LLC in Atlanta, where she worked with a leading legal negotiator on business, corporate and estate matters.  In 2010 Shannon joined Petmecky Law Group, LLC, an innovative estate planning firm in Atlanta.  She opened Vogt Law Firm, LLC in 2013.  At that time she became a member of WealthCounsel—one of the nation’s preeminent forums for estate planning professionals.

She has a broad range of experience in developing personalized estate plans (Wills, Revocable Trusts, Irrevocable Trusts), and probating and administering estates for individuals, couples and families, as well as representing closely held businesses.

Sometimes clients have legal issues outside Shannon’s areas of expertise.  In such cases, Shannon makes careful investigation so she can direct her clients to the proper attorney.  One of her goals is to develop a long-term relationship with her clients, so that they know she cares about them beyond the legal engagement.

Shannon earned her Bachelor of Arts, cum laude, in philosophy at Mercer University.  She graduated from Georgia State University with her Juris Doctor in 1987.

Shannon is motivated by her work as an advocate, particularly for the weak—disabled people, orphans, and pre-born babies and their mothers.
